【摘要】:Manufacturersofthermalinsulationforvalvestypicallyexpresstheperformanceoftheirproductsinchartsandtablesshowingheatlosspervalve.Thesedataarepresentedforbothbareandinsulatedvalvesofdifferentpipesizes,ANSIclasses,insulationtypes,insulationthicknesses,andservicetemperatures.Additionalinformationoneffectsofwindvelocity,jacketemittance,barevalveemittance,andambientconditionsmayalsoberequiredtoproperlyselectaninsulationsystem.Duetotheinfinitecombinationofpipesizes,ANSIclasses,insulationtypesandthicknesses,servicetemperatures,insulationcovergeometries,surfaceemittances,andambientconditions,itisnotpossibletopublishdataforeachpossiblecase.Usersofthermalinsulationforpipingsystemsfacedwiththeproblemofdesigninglargesystemsofinsulatedpiping,encountersubstantialengineeringcoststoobtaintherequiredthermalinformation.Thiscostcanbesubstantiallyreducedbyboththeuseofaccurateengineeringdatatables,orbytheuseofavailablecomputeranalysistools,orboth.Theuseofthispracticebythemanufacturer,contractor,andusersofthermalinsulationforvalvesandflangeswillprovidestandardizedengineeringdataofsufficientaccuracyandconsistencyforpredictingthesavingsinheatingenergyusebyinsulatingbarevalvesandflanges.Computersarenowreadilyavailabletomostproducersandconsumersofthermalinsulationtopermituseofthispractice.ThecomputerprograminPracticeC680hasbeendevelopedtocalculatetheheatlossperunitlength,orperunitsurfacearea,ofbothbareandinsulatedpipe.Withvaluesforbarevalveorflangesurfaceareas,heatlosscanbeestimated.Byestimatingtheouterinsulationsurfaceareafromaninsulationmanufacturer''sorcontractor''sdrawings,theheatlossfromtheinsulationsurfacecanlikewisebecalculatedbytakingtheproductofheatlossperunitarea(fromprogramsconformingtoPracticeC680)andthevalveorflangeinsulationsurfacearea.Theareaoftheuninsulatedsurfacesmayalsoneedtobeconsidered.TheuseofthispracticerequiresthatthevalveorflangeinsulationsystemmeetsGuideC1094andPracticeC450,whereapplicable.1.1Themathematicalmethodsincludedinthispracticeprovideacalculationalprocedureforestimatingheatlossorheatsavingswhenthermalinsulationisaddedtobarevalvesandflanges.1.2Questionsofapplicabilitytorealsystemsshouldberesolvedbyqualifiedpersonnelfamiliarwithinsulationsystemsdesignandanalysis.1.3Estimatedaccuracyislimitedbythefollowing:1.3.1Therangeandqualityofthephysicalpropertydatafortheinsulationmaterialsandsystem,1.3.2Theaccuracyofthemethodologyusedincalculationofthebarevalveandinsulationsurfaceareas,and1.3.3Thequalityofworkmanship,fabrication,andinstallation.1.4Thisprocedureisconsideredapplicablebothforconventional-typeinsulationsystemsandforremovable/reuseablecovers.Inbothcases,forpurposesofheattransfercalculations,theinsulationsystemisassumedtobehomogenous.1.5Thispracticedoesnotintendtoestablishthecriteriarequiredinthedesignoftheequipmentoverwhichthermalinsulationisused,nordoesthispracticeestablishorrecommendtheapplicabilityofthermalinsulationoverallsurfaces.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoes......
